Modular school in Iceland is made up of 54 modules, produced in 120 days, delivered to the site and assembled in record 10 days.
In 2018, we produced two modular buildings consisting of a total of 54 modules for the building of a school in Iceland.
All the facilities were manufactured in the EUROmodul manufacturing plant within 120 days and delivered to the location in Kópavoguru, Iceland, where the EUROmodul team assembled the entire school a record 10 days time.
The school consists of two buildings:
BUILDING 1 (30 modules)
BUILDING 2 (24 modules)
Both buildings are designed as a modular school with a temporary function, and are constructed in accordance with all Icelandic laws and building standards for this purpose. After the school building performs its function at the location mentioned, it will be dismantled and reassembled at another location.
BUILDING 1:
It consists of 30 modules with dimensions:
Floor 34,4 x 18,30 m
External module height 3075 mm
Height of the inner walls (from the finished floor structure to the Cleaneo sound system on the ceiling) 2520 mm
Height of interior walls (from finished floor to ceiling) 2580 mm
BUILDING 2:
It consists of 24 modules of dimensions:
Floor 34,4 x 18,3 m
External module hight 3075 mm
Height of the inner walls (from the finished floor structure to the Cleaneo sound system on the ceiling) 2520 mm
Height of interior walls (from finished floor to ceiling) 2580 mm
During dismantling, each module is designed for standard truck transport (2 modules per 1 truck).
WATER INSTALLATION SYSTEM:
Each classroom, technical room, sanitary facility and sanitary facility for the disabled is equipped with a plumbing system. Plumbing is made of 16 mm ALUPEX pipes connected to the public network within each technical room.
SEWERAGE SYSTEM:
Each classroom, technical room, sanitary facility and sanitary facility for the disabled is equipped with a sewerage system.
The sewerage network is made of Geberit SILENT-PP tubes with two DN110 outputs per classroom.
HEATING SYSTEM:
All rooms except the technical area have a built-in heating system.
The system is made of Geberit Mapress stainless steel pipes and is connected to the public grid of heating within each technical room, while the modules are connected inside the columns and the inspection holes.
ELECTRICITY SYSTEM:
All rooms are equipped with an electricity network connected to the public system in each technical room through the A1 panel and all the classrooms have separate distribution boxes connected to the main A1 panel.
WATER WASTE SYSTEM:
The drainage system is part of the module construction. Roofs are made with a 2% drop on each side of the module and the water is collected from the roof into the gutter inside the main roof profile and is discharged through the pillars beneath the module.
The interior and exterior are arranged according to the client’s specifications.
The facade of the module is permeable and made of galvanized cassettes of 1.5 mm thickness.
The entire project was made with the possibility of installation, dismantling and relocation from location to location, and estimated lifetime of buildings is 30-40 years depending on client’s maintenance level.
